Description
A smaller-sized papercut of a geometric pattern. Each one is handmade and unique and this is in mainly blues and black with a bright centre.
The Polish town of Lowicz is famous for its beautiful and complex papercuts. Each piece is cut out by hand and stuck on card. Known as “wycinanki” (vi-chi-nan-kee), they were traditionally used to decorate the walls and roof beams of wooden houses. Until recently it was a dying art but a resurgence in interest has seen wycnanki motifs appearing all over Poland: on bags, pencils and even laptop cases.
These look lovely when framed. This one comes on a white card background and is protected with cellophane which should be removed before framing.
Dimensions: 17 x 17 cm (the white area)
